Each treatment is guided by the skin in front of us—its current condition, sensitivities, and changing needs—rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol. Sessions may incorporate products from 640 Apothecary, our in-house line, alongside professional formulations from Botnia Skincare.

Our Formulation Philosophy
We believe skincare should be thoughtful, purposeful, and rooted in an understanding of the ingredients we work with.
640 Apothecary is formulated in-house using traditional slow-infusion methods and carefully selected materials, including tree resins, herbs and botanicals, organic and wildcrafted plant oils, and traditionally used animal-derived ingredients such as tallow and lanolin. Rather than choosing ingredients simply because they are considered “natural,” we select them intentionally for their unique properties, function within a formulation, and relationship with the skin.
Alongside our own formulations, we work with Botnia, whose fresh, professionally formulated botanical skincare complements our approach and gives our estheticians an even broader range of options for individualized treatment.
Together, 640 Apothecary and Botnia allow us to meet the skin where it is—choosing products and ingredients according to what each person’s skin needs rather than asking every client to fit into the same skincare system.
Formulation Has Always Been Part of 640
Long before 640 Health Therapies opened its doors, founder Tabatha Black, LMT, began her work in wellness through formulation. In her twenties, she spent four years as an Ayurvedic Formulary Assistant for a small-batch apothecary, learning the process from the ground up—from working with herbs and oils and producing formulations to developing products of her own.
It was actually through formulation that Tabatha was first introduced to therapeutic touch. A facial training intended to deepen her understanding of the products she was helping create ultimately led her to massage therapy and, years later, to opening 640 Health Therapies.
Formulation has remained woven into the practice ever since. Since 640 opened in 2016, our massage therapists have worked with body butters made in-house by Tabatha—formulations that have become longtime favorites among both clients and practitioners and ultimately helped lay the groundwork for 640 Apothecary.
Today, 640 Apothecary brings that relationship full circle, expanding in-house formulation into our Facial Therapy rooms. Our estheticians have access to formulations created within the practice itself, while their hands-on experience with the skin provides another valuable perspective that can continue to inform and inspire what we formulate next.

Advanced Facial Therapy
Advanced Facial Therapy takes our individualized approach beyond the skin, incorporating techniques that address the facial muscles, fascia, and lymphatic system. This gentle, noninvasive treatment combines customized facial therapy with Hadado (Japanese facial lifting techniques) and buccal (intraoral) massage to work with the face from both the outside and inside.

What is buccal massage?
Buccal massage is an intraoral manual technique that allows the practitioner to work with facial and jaw musculature from both inside and outside the mouth. It is incorporated into our Advanced Facial Therapy to address areas of muscular tension and restriction that may be difficult to access externally.
What is Facial Gua Sha Therapy?
Facial Gua Sha Therapy combines the traditional practice of Gua Sha with individualized Facial Therapy. Smooth Gua Sha stones and intentional therapeutic techniques are used across the face and neck to encourage circulation and lymphatic movement while working with areas of facial tension and restriction.
We also offer Facial Gua Sha & Neck Massage as a bodywork service for clients interested in the manual therapy component without a full esthetic treatment.
Do you offer extractions?
Yes. Extractions are not automatically included in 640 Facial Therapy but may be added at no additional charge with select estheticians. When appropriate for your skin, extractions focus on the careful removal of blackheads, whiteheads, and areas of congestion.
